Lace & Pearls

My DT card for our new challenge starting today over on As You Like It. The challenge is to use your two favourite embellishments and tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored by

Im a romantic! Love lace and pearls on my wedding cards, chose this particular lace as its just so so pretty and simply, I love it.
Everything chosen for this card depicts the bride in lace, pearls and roses and the groom in Highland dress. The Kraft woven background gives a country, rustic feel which was part of the wedding theme.
Gawd, camera focus as bad as my eyesight, totally lost the plot focusing on my sentiment. Shame, looked perfect!

Happy Ever After!

My time doesn't half fly between challenges! Just haven't had time to blog, funerals, trying to sort out my mums house, wedding cards and a few relapse days in-between. The house is still on going, be at it awhile, mum kept everything! Least the card pile has slowed down a bit now, I seem to take forever getting just one made!

Its the start of a new one over on
and this time round we would like to see
your favourite decade/peroid in your life (&why).
All details on the blog

Well, whats my favourite decade/period? Had to be along the lines of weddings as I have had four cards to make and just didn't have time to make a specific card but it was a very special time in my life. The 70's! I met my now hubby at the age of 15 years and married him when I was 19 years old and lived happily ever after, lol! Special memories, my mum made my dress and still have it packed away in a box. I was the apprentice, got all the tacking together to do which came in very handy when I started making my own clothes. And my card today reminds me of how I altered the remaining invites and made up my own wedding menus and thank you notes.

As You Like It Challenge

Wishing you all a Happy New Year
 Hope you will join us
 over on
 As You Like It
 for our
 first challenge of 2015.
We would like to see your favourite card shape or fold and tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs.

I'm not sure what this shaped card is called but I loved it when I saw it while browsing the net for something a bit different for a Wedding card.  An A4 sheet of cream linen card, a few scores here and there , folded to make a square card. Embossed white linen card and finished of the small panels with die cuts.

Card folded and fits in a 6x6 envelope.

Think its a LOTV image, what a memory I have! Coloured with Promarkers
and framed with a diecut.

Sentiment framed with a Memorybox die

As You Like It Challenge

\hello
Today sees the start of a new challenge over on As You Like It and this fortnight we wou8ld like to see your creations using your favourite die and tell us why in your link up.

Our sponsor this time is Care2stamp

A tall order I think with most of us, deciding which is our favourite. I have many favourites but have chosen a Joanna Sheen die, as soon as I seen it I hd to have lol! Could see many uses for it. Love the scrolls and instead of having the heart can see me using flowers, butterflies and sentiments instead. Love things I can adapt, makes it a die worth having in your collection.

For this card, I decided to emboss the card using the die instead of cutting it out. I then cut a further one using home made glitter card (glue and Glamour dust) and using only the heart piece
layered it onto the embossed one. Pretty simple card, getting to like making CAS cards more and more.

Oh Dear, late again posting! A day out yesterday with a friend in Aberdeen, shopping. Wacked today but worth it.
Hope you will join us.

Chose a heart die for Sentiment embossed with Gold embossing powder, Cream and White Linen card, Flourish and die cut Roses. The base card I made using large scalloped die cuts from Jus Cutz.
Gosh, that was a bit dodgy! Typing having just painted my nails and doing this inbetween layers lol!! Just checked them, alls well no squashy bits!

Hope you come over and share your lovely creations with us and check out what my lovely team mates have created.

Lets hope I can improve on my one a fortnight card! And maybe for once I will be on time with this post!

Poppy Inspired

Hello, a Ruby Wedding card using Memory Box dies. Love the Poppy one and have used it a few times for Weddings. So elegant and my friend likes Butterflies on her cards but don't put ribbon on it whatever you make she always says. Nothing much to it really, would love to say it was a quick card but spent so much time making my mind up on the LO, was at it for ages!

Golden Wedding with a Farm Theme

Hope you had a good weekend everyone. Had a fun day out on Saturday. Set off to the Papercraft Boutique in Elgin for a morning of gorgeous inspiration from Kate and bought some yummy new stash to play with. So much new things to temp the weak! Hope to get playing later on today that's if my expectant Mums down in the Steading don't decide this is the day . Three imminent so that would be fun! Ha ha any sign of trouble and I'll be shouting for help, My days of calving are long gone. We have snow today and at the mo it is a white out, very windy here too, at this rate it won't be long and I'll be snowed in.
Okay, onto my card,

A Golden Wedding card, a bit different from the norm. Was asked to make a card for an old neighbour, plain and simple with a farming theme. Have had these Hobby Art build a scene stamps for a number of years. Used Gold embossing powder and nothing else, simple.

together, love, life

A card I made for friends who tied the knot at the weekend. Took it with me and left it in my Sons car lol. Had visions he would pick up his friends and it would get sat on but all was okay, managed to retrieve it and hand it over at the end of the night.

Hopefully I'll catch up with you all, where on earth does the time go, I seem to be constantly chasing my tail.

Morning to you all, hope everyone's fine and looking forward to the weekend. Mines starting today! Off on a girly shop with my friend and then treating her to lunch. Looking for my holiday clothes. Finally got round to booking two flights to Vancouver, Canada.  Spending two weeks with friends in September so really looking forward to that. Was going out to see our son but he's decided to come home next month before he heads back to Australia so really looking forward to seeing him again.
Okay, my card, made a good few for a friend just lately, will be running out of ideas at this rate.

Made the couple, lol, the groom, two circles, black gems and made a wee black bow for the bow tie. The bride, a circle, trimmed to fit behind the  heart die, stamped with Hero Arts swirl and embossed with white detail embossing powder. Added small white pearls to create the neckless.

Mr & Mrs

A warm welcome to you all and my new followers this Wednesday evening, half way through the week and not getting much accomplished. Hubby thought I would have the back hall and Utility room emptied ready to demolish it although I'm dying to get the ball moving on the new extension, was really too tired to box up everything. I've waited four years for this to happen so another few days isn't going to make it happen any quicker I think!
Okay onto my card.
Well that's the last Wedding card done and dusted for the mean time. Loved making simple elegant cards with loads of embossing. Hadn't done so much in a long time.  Love this pretty Hearts folder and was the first time for my Memorybox Hearts  border. die.

 Computerised Mr & Mrs

 Lace from The Ribbon Girl
Pearls from stash

Okay, move over embossing folders, been playing with Acrylic paints. Went to an Andy Skinner demo last year and liked what I saw and this is me just getting round to having a go at tag making. Won't know when I'll blog again, depends how many attempts end up in the bin!

On Your Wedding Day

Well I'm not sure where my week went, I'm sure someone out there has pressed the fast forward button. Life's going just a wee bit too fast for me, so much I would like to do but before I know it it's bedtime.  Spent Friday evening making a Wedding card. Haven't made one in  a while. Decided to go white on white apart from the backing card and no cutie images as it's for an older couple. One down one to go, not sure if it's for the same person or not so will have to get my thinking cap on so not to make them to much the same.

Craftworks Easel shaped cards

Wedding Day Sentiment - Anita's Stamps inked up with TH Stormy Sky and clear embossed. Matted and layered with Nesties. Embossed with SU embossing folder, added pearls to finish.

Crafts-Too Hearts embossing folder, handmade flowers, punched circles then embossed with SU folder, cut and rolled and added pearl to centres.
