Snow Much Fun Dis Digi Designs Challenge

Happy New Year! A bit late to the table I am, my first post of the year for me and my card was made before Christmas for the new challenge as at the mo my craft room is in the middle of a revamp. Was supposed to be a little upgrade but grew arms and legs in a very short  time and ended up completely empty lol!! Coming together slowly but am wondering how all my stash is going to fit back in so hopefully a couple of weeks and I haven't burnt myself out  I'll be ready to enjoy my new space. Okay, onto Dis Digi Designs first challenge of the Year and it's Snow Much Fun. I have used digi stamp Mice Making Snowman and decided to have pink mice. Pop on over to the challenge page for all the details and see what the Design Team created and join in the fun.

Dis digi designs challenge - Winter Holidays

New challenge starting today
 over on
The theme
is
Winter Holidays .

Thats me finished Christmas cards for this year, failed miserably getting enough made and getting them uploaded but hopefully have more time in the run up to Christmas to show the few i have not blogged yet.  Time to tidy up in readiness to empty my room for a craft room facelift. Just hoping Im not doing it on my own as will still be at it months to come. So looking forward to hopefully be more organised and just hope I remember where I put everything!

Loved colouring up this cutie 'Westies Christmas', my Westie gave it the paws up for sure. He loves a pressy to rip open on Christmas morning.

Chilly Charlie Comes Bearing Gifts!

Feeling the chill with this card! Love blue Christmas cards and Chilly Charlie from dis digi stamps was perfect for these gorgeous papers. Coloured with Copic blues and greys and added Wink of Stella for a subtle sparkle to the pressies and bows, not that the camera has picked that up. Not a camera genie I'm afraid!

Been awhile!

Woo hoo, finally made it back on here! Where have I been? Won't bore you with my illness, let's just say it put me in my place for awhile along with a bad back but hopefully thats now history and I can get on with life again and hopefully make crafty things again.

Haven't made anything since this card just before Christmas, was a rush job, last minute request and finished in one afternoon. Hate being put on the spot but I think I get on better having no time to dither here or there, this way or that way, which papers dies, oh the list goes on when I have the time lol! Was so pleased how this turned out.

I loved it, didn't want to give it away, really need to stop thinking that way, just hope it was well received.

Sizzix Poinsettia large die,Trimcraft Christmas papers, edges inked with TH Frayed Burlap

For the Just for you die I used papers and embossed with Frantage, loved the result. I cut three die cuts out and layered them to make it pop more.

Paper edges roughed up and torn then inked
Spellbinders die cut rectangle finished off with mocha pearls
Memory box holly flourish cut out in gold, tiny red gems added to stems.
Pearl edged lace

My card deserved a box since the Poinsettia was BIG and didn't want it getting squashed,  used linen card and followed the card theme without giving to much away, I think!

Haven't been in my craft room for over a month till today, gave it a bit of a tidy up and along with my new crafty buys, oh yes, I did manage that while layed up. Had to do something to fill my days lol!!! Just need broadband to behave now, it is so slow, at this rate we might have to go satellite yet. Need to get hubby to look into that, not holding my breath, now if it had something to do with farming he would be straight onto it!

Times a Ticking!

Soon be Christmas lol!

Pat on the back Carol, this year, Christmas cards all done,  just have my family ones to do and Im done. Hopefully get some blogged before Christmas. I don't have superfast broadband, too far from exchange and been such a pain this year, just gets slower and slower, a bit like me lol! Okay onto this fortnights challenge for As You Like It  and this time round we want to see your favourite Male or Female creations.

Our sponsor for this fortnight is

I decided to go with a male card, find them challenging but get a lot of satisfaction out of the end result. I decided I wanted to make a card using the clock die and placing the snowy scene in the centre  and at that point hadn't come up with the old fashion clock idea, just happened as I went along lol! Was rummaging through card blanks and came across this shaped one and it just clicked. Had great fun creating this.

I hope you find time to join us.

As You Like It Challenge

A new challenge starting today
over on
As You Like It
and we would love to see your lovely creations
using your
Favourite song or film as inspiration
and remember to tell us why in your link up.

Our sponsor this time round is

Since Christmas is creeping up on me too quickly I decided it had to be something Christmassy and  'From our house to your house' is a lovely Christmassy song. Decorated up this house with Maja Christmas papers I was so lucky to win on Facebook. Painted first with acrylic paint then frosted up with sticklers. Placed a tealight in the roof and forgetful me forgot to turn the light on didnt I!

Short and sweet from me today, so tired out, been sitting with my poorly Mum past couple of days and not feeling like blogging at the mo. But hope you are in crafty mode and come and join in with our challenge.

Bye for now

As You Like It Challenge

A new challenge starting today
 over on
and this fortnight we would like to see your
Favourite Christmas style (Modern or Traditional)
 and
remember to say why in your link up.

I like both but going with modern as I thought this little Christmas tree looked great embossed in white against the black. My Christmas cards this year are very simple, always leave to late in year to get going on them, must try and do some every month next year. Think I say that every year lol!

We are sponsored by

My tree image is a freebie, PB set that came with a magazine. Embossed with detail white embossing powder onto black background. Matted and layered with a Spellbinder die set and finished off with a snowflake die cut, gems and sentiment.
Thats it from me, I hope you come and join us with a lovely creation.

A Christmas Wreath

Lovely to be asked to be Guest Designer on Crafting By Design this month.
Decided to go all Christmassy with my new papers from Craftwork cards. Couldn't wait to play with them such gorgeous Christmassy colours and designs. I bought the complete set and got the cracker template cards free.

I used Kraft card and Cream Linen card for the basic design. Cut the circles using Spellbinders large dies then embossed with A4 embossing folder for texture. Inked the edges with TH distress inks then started to layer up with TH Poinsettia die, Memorybox medium and small Rose dies, inked all the edges and finished off with Frosted Stickles. The Ivy leaf flourish is from Joanna Sheen. Finished off with a few pearls and Gingham bow. The centre I used Kraft card and one of the Sentiment pieces from the Paperpad. The large bow at the Top comes from a pad full of different patterned papers and sizes that comes with the collection, bows on everything this year lol!
Finished with a Gingham ribbon to hand for everyone to see. Hope you Like.

Want different sized Roses! Just roll them tighter.
Berries from online stores

Okay seem to have got my timing wrong, nothing new there then!

Flying Home for Christmas!

Oh I wish!
Instead this wee darling is heading in the complete opposite direction, flying off to Australia. My son's Christmas card, love to make them real Wintry since he will be basking in the Australian Sun. Lucky him! Not just made it for him but also the Sugar Nellie Competion, using one of their new digi stamp releases. A super prize for some lucky crafter out there.
I have used  High Flyer,  super cute and so easy to colour, added Frosted Stickles for that brrrrrr feeling and added some sparkle to his scarf and googles

Your Favourite Christmas Stamp and Why

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and this fortnight we would like to see you use your favourite Christmas stamp and remember to tell us why, we love to read your reasons!
We are sponsored by

Well my favourite stamp is from Stampendous, the Postcard scene. Bought it back in Jaanuary after seeing so many bonny cards made with it but just got round to thinking off Christmas cards a few weeks back and had one very special one to make for my son out in Australia and thought it was perfect as it reminds me of our home. Love a good old blizzard and everyone safe inside keeping cosy. Not that he has to worry about that nowadays!

I used Kraft card, wanted to make it manly! Loved playing with the Frantage. Ivy die from Joanna Sheen, Holly from Cheerylyn and the Poinsettia is a Spellbinder. Everything inked with TH distressed ink.

Hope to see you over there.
