Child's Play
The painting and the mess I created around me, yes!
Afternoon, it's freezing here today, wind howling and hailstone showers on and off all morning so where am I! All cosy in my craft room, best place I think. The other day I said I was off to have a play with Acrylic paints, well the first attempt went well till I got to the stamping part and all went wrong so into the bin and start again. This is my first attempt, well finished one. Not sure I accomplished the effects your supposed to but it's nnalorac style lol!
First I cut a tag from a piece of Linen card. Painted it with Gesso. Then the fun part. Used Martha Stewart Acrylic paints, various colours starting from dark blue through to Linen White. Paint brush in hand, a dab here, a dab there. Dried in between coats finishing with Metallic Yellow Gold.
Using Staz On, I inked up the Butterfly from Hero Arts Antique Engraving stamp set, well used this one, such a lovely set to have in your stamp collection and sentiment from Live Life set. I then dabbed some Linen White to enhance the butterflies. Added some Pearl coloured pearls to finish.
The flower I made from Linen card sprayed with Cloud Blue Acrylic paint diluted in water, crunched up, dried then cut out with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals. Rolled and pinched here and there, a dusting of Antique Linen from TH and added pearl brad to centre. Finished off with cream lace, and bow.
I'm going to enter two challenges
http://rainbowladyschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ This week they ask for Celebration/Vintage. Well I hope my card has a vintage feel to it and Celebration! My sentiment ! Life, make the most of it. This week is their 200 challenge so congrats to Rainbow Lady's success.
http://movingalongwiththetimes.blogspot.co.uk/ is Shabby Chic/Vintage time
Now my Son said something about making me lunch but he seems to have gone astray! Ah, he's appeared. Wonder what tasty snack he's going to conjure up!
bye for now, have a lovely weekend
x
