GDT for Creative Inspirations Challenge

Was one of the Top3 on Creative Inspirations a couple of weeks back and also had the chance to be a GDT for one of their challenges so here I am with a card and since Mother's Day is coming up, nothing like being prepared, made a pillow box to match. Images were given so this is what I came up with. Lots to choose from , decided to use the Pillow box template, cut out in Bazzil card,  used Hero Arts French Letter stamp, embossed with Cranberry powder. The papers are from Docrafts, okay, thrown out the packaging once again and no idea of the name but thought the colours and patterns were just right for my Mum. Used Nestie and Marianne dies then printed out the flowers using the designer papers and 3d. Added cream pearls and some Glamour dust to add a touch of sparkle.

The Easel card is made up in a similar way, although I have Mother's Day in mind, who knows, this would make a lovely Birthday card with gift box so have left the sentiment off for just now.

Not a good start to Sunday morning! Laptop mouse has decided to go on strike, must of had a night on the town and got a hangover due think!  No amount of restarting will get him moving. Have borrowed hubby's work computer meantime. Think it's a SOS call to my brother for advice!

WOYWW & Simply Create DT Parcel!

Morning folks,  as you can see my desk is a crafty mess . Haven't been very tidy this week but once I've finished my latest project going to make a bit effort to clear my feet. In the middle of making one of my DT creations. Then it's onto DT makes for Simply Create  ( Sale on next week) with these gorgeous stamps. Ideas already flying about my head, hopefully stay there till I can have a play. May have to wait till tomorrow, off to have a crafty play with friends. And so we don't just sit and chat the afternoon away we usually set a sketch challenge to keep the tounges at bay! Well some of the time anyway.

Making my own flowers, very time consuming cutting all those petals but well worth it I think! Hopefully they look like daisies, well the yellow ones
.

Coloured my all time favourite stamp 'daisy' with Promarkers yeh! a first for me, not that I didn't have any,( didn't realise I had so many hidden away in the cupboard, not any more, found this plastic container and managed to squeeze them all in} just shyed away from them, visions of my boys and colouring books come to mind, all so long ago and colouring isn't my stong point, mind you the boys got fed up and wandered off, me, just couldn't leave an unfinished page.

Well that's it from me, off to join in the fun and visit all kinds of work desks over on Julias Stamping Ground, What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Blog Award

Thank you Jackie for this lovely award. Want to appologise for taking so long, had started this post awhile back but unforseen circumstances got in the way and had slipped my silly head!  Now I have just copied info from Jackie's blog just incase I botched it up, been making a good job of that just lately!

You have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged
Dear bloggers:

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, probably more known than mine but I just want to share their gorgeeous cards if you haven't already visited them!

so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.

This is the hard part passing it on as ALL you fellow crafting bloggers

deserve this award but rules is rules & I am passing this onto....

Also received this award this morning from the lovelyMaggie. Thanks, a lovely start to the day Maggie!

Step 2 - Share 7 random things about yourself
Step 3 – Award 15 recently discovered bloggers with this award
Step 4 – Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won the award

7 random things about me...
Now this is the hard bit!!
Used to pull the odd pint when I was a receptionist in a hotel when I was young, so Dianne if you want to have a break from Emerdale's Woolpack go for it, more than willing to step in your shoes lol!! Could rub shoulders with Andy. Now I know he's old enough to be my son and yes I know what your all thinking!! I just want to mother him! Well that's going to be thing no 2!!
My eldest son looks like Andy from Emerdale!
I used to be a Playgroup Leader, think I was the biggest kid there!
Have calved the odd cow on our farm, speaking of your heart pounding ten to the dozen, thought mine was going to explode with the adrenalin rush hoping I was going to get the calf out alive!
I would love to retire to a cottage by the sea. Hubby says that's just a romantic notion! So looks like I'm stuck up in the hills surrounded by cowmuck!!
I've always been a bit of a loner and am shy (really I am)
I haven't seen my middle son for nearly a year and a half. Getting really excited, will be home in April. Can't wait to give him a big hug!
Gosh you'll all be bored after all that!!
Passing this onto fab bloggers

A cuppa I think is needed after that spiel!

Vintage Style For Lily!

Morning folks, hopefully get some crafting done today, haven't got much done this week and the weekend is fast approaching and it will be time to baracade my craft desk from little fingers. Robbie is into everything and just loves to get his hands on my stash. Far more fun than playing with his toys. He looks at you and gives that cheeky grin and grabs whatever he can get a hold of, knowing your going to be after him! Always exhausted by bedtime, think he's got ants in his pants, never at peace for a moment, gosh and woman my age want to have babies!! Well I've had my day and I enjoy my me time and just have hubby to think about.

Bought these papers and image at Simply Create on my last visit up to Alford. Haven't a clue what they're called as no name on the papers so I can be excused this time surely!

Isn't she adorable and I love the vintage look! Decorated inside but forgot to photograph it doh!!

WOYWW

Morning folks from a miserable wet day in Aberdeenshire. Not so hot myself, think the goings on over the past week have finally caught up with me, haven't much zip about me today so nothing for it but to behave until my batteries recharge, get myself a cuppa and spend some time visiting fellow crafters over at Julias Stamping Ground.  Nothing very exciting to show on my desk this week! Been working on a card for a GDT spot so no show just yet but you can see the papers I used! The carousel tote I showed a couple of weeks back working a treat for me, so far been putting my tools back each time I use them, no time wasted searching under all my mess! A gift from my friend Aud, the Easel for my cards and the cup tree for my sticky tape which I seen on someone elses WOYWW  blog a few weeks back. That's it from me, the coffees made, hopefully see you over by!

What Are Little Girls Made Of!

Sugar and spice
And all things nice!
Think this Mo Manning image fits the rhymn to a tee. Isn't she adorable, love using her for a baby girl card.  Okay I've completely lost the plot!  Can't for the life of me remember what papers I used, can't find them anywhere! Was looking for challenges to enter and yes it came to me while browsing, Bearly Mine designs doh! Mmmnnn, don't think we need go there!  Beautiful sunny day here today, off soon to visit some of my crafting friends for a blether, been cooped up here for to long. Have a lovely day!

Retirement

Afternoon folks,  Wasn't sure where I was going with my card, nowthing new there! As I built it up it didn't feel quite right, didn't have a good feel about it at all! And working with green ! Not my favourite colour I like working with.! Not sure about the wee man leaning on his shovel but that's all I had. And since I didn't have much time to make this, the lady who passed the messege onto me from the  recipident had forgotton to tell me to make it! Took me two days off and on to complete, okay, if I didn't wonder off now and again making cups of Coffee and sitting down and having a browse through the blogs it would of been done and dusted earlier!  What do I think!  I am really pleased with the result and I hope they are too!

This is the box. Used coloured cardstock, luckily I had to match the card. Saved a lot of inking, Phew!! The center I used white linen card inked with Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge and Moss Green. 2 in 1 Fiskars Vine border punch. Hero Arts, ooo I've forgot it's name and printed sentiment onto top card.

This is the insert, not one for going over the top with them usually, must say really enjoy it when I do and really gives a card that little bit something!

Finally the card! Used white linen card, inked up with Tim Holtz once again and roughed up the edges with a pair of scissors. Usually use my TH tool but think the scissors give a much rougher edge! Now the scene!Tore a circle out and placed in center, then  stamped  with Hero Arts Canvas Stripe with Moss green and embossed with clear embossing powder, looks gold in places!! Inked over with Rusty Hinge. I then masked the Canvas Stripe and stamped Hero Arts Sillhoette Grass in the circle and inked. Stamped border with Great Impressions Lined Background, punched with Martha Stewart punch, hopefully looks like a fence!! Image from Great Impressions, coloured with Prisma pencils and the wee man was lurking in a folder and not sure where on earth he came from!. Finished off with Craftworks Candy, twine, TH clock face and own sentiment.

Hope you've stayed with me, I'm exhausted! Sorry if you are too after that long post. Think we need a coffee after that!. Thanks for bearing with me! Happy crafting!

WOYWW

Having an off day, wasn;t going to join in on the fun over at WOWY Julias Stamping ground but then why not I thought !Can always just have a snoop around some interesting desks, can be a real pick me up, inspiration, tips, storage ideas and so on, just good clean fun. Speaking of clean! Have inked up this insert for a card I'm just finishing off. Gosh just re-read, what on earth has clean got to do with inking! Think I was trying to say, far from clean, fingers an array of Rusty Hinge and Moss Green Tim Holtz inks. Used  Fiskars 2in1 Vine border punch. Bought it in October and never used it, tut tut Carol!! Now brain not towing the line this morning so couldn't get my head round how to use it, doh!! A little trip over to Youtube and everythings dandy now. Love how easy it was to use and the result! Gorgeous I think! Ooo wonder if there's more of them! A little trip round the internet I think, now what did I say about buying this year!!  Just have to matt and layer and place it in the card and then make the box.  Will post when I have it completed!

Speaking of buying! Bought these the other day.

Seen Jackie's gorgeous cards made with the Craft Concepts Sun Rays  embossing folder and WANTED it. Have a few ideas swimming about up there somewhere I want to try out! Okay couldn't just stop at that, liked the other two so in good old Carol fashion!  they just happened to drop in basket too. Bought off ebay and the service was fantastic. Ordered late morning and on my doorstep next morning, Wow!! Well that's enough blabbing for today and not to confusing! Have a lovely day and hope you  manage to fit in a bit of crafting fun !
